Galleon Embedded Computing joins Norwegian-American Defense and Homeland Security Industry Council
June 10, 2025
Galleon Embedded Computing has joined the Norwegian-American Defense and Homeland Security Industry Council (NADIC). The membership represents a natural evolution of the company’s commitment to fostering stronger ties between Norwegian and American defense industries while leveraging our deep roots in Norwegian defense innovation.
“Joining NADIC is a true benefit for us that significantly strengthens the bridge between Norwegian innovation and U.S. defense collaboration,” said Cory Grosklags, Chief Commercial Officer at Spectra Aerospace & Defense — Galleon’s parent company. “With Galleon Embedded Computing, we have a well-established presence globally to deliver rugged, high-performance computing solutions that meet the evolving needs of allied defense forces.”
History in Norway
Galleon Embedded Computing was founded in 2009 in Oslo, Norway, with a clear mission: to develop high-performance, ruggedized computing solutions for the most demanding military applications. From our Oslo headquarters, we have designed, developed and manufactured data recorder and mission computer systems for aircraft, UAVs and ground vehicles that serve defense forces around the world.
Our relationship with Norwegian defense forces runs deep. Since our founding, we have provided cutting-edge rugged computing solutions that have proven their worth in Norway’s challenging operational environments – from Arctic conditions to maritime operations in the North Atlantic. This experience has shaped our understanding of what military operators truly need: reliable, high-performance systems that function flawlessly in the harshest conditions imaginable.
Joining the Spectra Family: Expanding capabilities
In 2021, Galleon Embedded Computing became part of Spectra Aerospace & Defense, a trusted and growing platform of C5ISR companies that includes CALCULEX, Galleon Embedded Computing and ArgonFDS. This strategic alignment brought together over a half-century of rugged, mission-ready, battle-tested experience in aerospace and defense applications.
As part of the Spectra family, we now offer comprehensive end-to-end solutions that span the entire data capture lifecycle – from high-speed data acquisition and recording using military-grade data recorders to secure, high-density storage with rugged network attached storage (NAS) solutions. Our integrated approach helps military end-users achieve mission success by capturing, processing, and displaying mission-critical data in the harshest environmental conditions across air, land, sea, and space domains.
In addition to its headquarters in Oslo, Galleon Embedded Computing also has facilities in London and Munich and in the U.S. in Houston, Fort Worth and San Diego. Our comprehensive portfolio includes rugged data recorders, mission computers, NAS servers, and removable data modules designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern defense operations.
“Through NADIC, we look forward to deepening transatlantic partnerships between defense organizations to contribute to a more secure future,” Grosklags said. “We know there’s a quickly evolving threat landscape globally — and in Europe particularly — and we’re well positioned to provide these mission-critical products where they’re needed most.”
Why NADIC aligns with our mission
Joining NADIC represents a strategic decision that aligns perfectly with our core values and business objectives. NADIC’s mission to develop and strengthen cooperation between Norwegian and American industries mirrors our own commitment to leveraging Norwegian innovation to support allied defense capabilities.
We see tremendous value in NADIC’s comprehensive support structure. The organization’s ability to promote the Norwegian defense and security industrial base, facilitate access to the U.S. market, and ensure that U.S. government officials understand the unique capabilities of Norwegian companies directly supports our growth strategy. As we continue expanding our presence in the American defense market, NADIC’s network and expertise will be invaluable.
“As NADIC members, we look forward to participating in the annual Norwegian-American Defense Conference and other key industry events,” Grosklags said. “We believe our proven track record with Norwegian defense forces and our growing success in the U.S. market position us to serve as a bridge between these vital allied defense communities.”
