Rugged Servers

 

Galleon's rugged Servers are high-performance systems for the most demanding deployed applications. They are designed to meet the most severe environmental conditions without compromising on functionality and performance. The high performance allows server virtualization in size constrained applications. The Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) optimized design makes them ideal for use in small unmanned aerial and ground systems, as well as large manned aircraft and vehicles.

Intel Core Xeon processor options, including the latest 11th generation, are supported with up to 96GB of DDR4 SDRAM with ECC. The flexible I/O architecture allows easy integration with existing infrastructure. Up to eight 10Gigabit Ethernet ports or thirteen Gigabit Ethernet ports are supported, which lends the unit ideal for network-attached storage (NAS) applications. The high number of Ethernet ports can eliminate the need for external switches, but the system can also be supplied with and 8-port internal Gigabit Ethernet switch.

Optional FIPS 140-2 and AES-256 hardware encryption provides a high level of data security with flexible key management options, including physical key tokens through front panel key loading port and remote loading over a secure network connection. Galleon's rugged Network Attached Storage (NAS) offers superior performance in an ultra small form factor. Removable storage ensures short ground times for airborne applications. Industry standard solid-state drives are used to benefit from the ever increasing storage densities and cost reductions as the technology evolves. The NAS is capable of handling a high number of simultaneous connections without compromising system performance. Both optical 10Gb and traditional Gigabit Ethernet optical or copper connections are available to suit existing infrastructure. The unit can be delivered with Windows Embedded Storage Server or Linux Enterprise Server preconfigured to suit your application needs. Optional FIPS 140-2 and AES-256 hardware encryption provides a high level of data security with flexible key management options, including physical key tokens through front panel key loading port and remote loading over a secure network connection. Rugged Ground Vehicle Computers

 

Galleon's rugged Ground Vehicle Computer (GVC) is a compact, high-performance platform for your in-vehicle processing applications.

Building on Galleon’s long experience with military computer design, the GVC is designed specifically for vehicle applications and meets the most severe environmental conditions without compromising on functionality or performance. Removable storage with multi-layer encryption ensures fast and secure offload of data.

High performance graphics in combination with multiple gigabit Ethernet ports, CANbus, USB 2.0 and 3.0, Serial Comms, GPIO and audio, makes the GVC ideal for integration with state-of-the-art network centric Battle Management Systems, Situational Awareness vehicle self-protection systems and vetronics applications. It implements full compatibility with the latest military vehicle standards such as VICTORY and GVA.

The GVC is maintenance free and offers reliable computing power at very low lifecycle costs. The flexible architecture allows several Intel Xeon-E processor options ranging from the low power E3-1505Lv6 quad core to the high-performance E-2276ME six-core CPU.

The extremely rugged and Size, Weight, Power and Cost (SWaP-C) optimized design makes them ideal for deployed applications in unmanned aerial systems, test pods, ground vehicles, etc.

Removable storage enables short down time for applications and access to recorded data in the ground access system without the need to download the recorded data over a slow drain interface. Data Management Systems

 

Galleon Embedded Computing offers Data Management Systems (Docking Stations and Support Systems) compatible with Galleon’s data recorders, NAS and servers.

 

Docking Station


Galleon's Docking Station allows easy pre-mission and post-mission access to move data onto or from the Removable Data Modules. By leveraging industry-standard interfaces and file systems, the Docking Stations are easy to integrate with any computer system. Data can be accessed directly over the USB interface, or copied to the host computer.

Galleon's removable data modules offer compatibility with all of Galleon’s data recorders, NAS and servers, thus providing an extremely flexible storage management solution to suit the target application. The RDM can be exchanged in the field in seconds, with no tools required and is rated for 100,000 insertion cycles.

Equally well suited for test or mission-deployed applications, the docking stations offer a fast and efficient method for moving data between vehicle-mounted Galleon systems and planning or debrief stations without the need for specialized tools or training.

The docking stations are sold as complete kits containing all required cabling and a universal 110V to 240V AC power supply is included. Standard operating system support provides the needed software interfaces to the data.

 

Support Systems


Galleon Embedded Computing offers support systems for the XSR and G1 data recorders, NAS and servers.

The XSR Offload Server provides a powerful solution for making the data available to the end-user. Data can be accessed directly by read/write to the RDM or it can be copied to the high capacity internal RAID for further processing or archiving. The built-in RDM docking station provides direct access to the four SSDs in the RDM through individual 3.0 Gbps SATA links for over 800MB/s sustained read/write speeds.

 


 

Rugged Storage

 

Galleon's Removable Data Modules fits all Galleon data recorders, NAS and servers, providing an extremely flexible storage solution to suit the target application. The RDMs can be exchanged in the field in seconds, with no tools required.

The storage modules can be fitted supporting capacities up to 80TB total. All varieties of SSDs can be used, ranging from military grade ultra rugged to commercial grade for lab and development systems. Consequently, the storage can be optimized depending on the usage and specific needs. For example, commercial grade storage can be used for lab development and pre-deployment usage, where cost and optimization is of higher importance than data integrity. Then, when the unit is used on critical missions, industrial grade storage can be used to meet the most demanding environments.

For additional security, optional AES 256-bit encryption may to the RDM by using suitably firmware enabled SSDs. Further security enhancements such as quick erase and secure erase are supported on selected storage media.

 


 

XMC Products

 

The Galleon XMC family consists of a sFPDP XMC, a quad channel GbE XMC and a quad channel 10GbE XMC.

Galleon's Serial FPDP XMC is a flexible platform implementing a quad channel VITA 17.1-2003 sFPDP receive and transmit engine for high-performance image processing, SIGINT/COMINT, radar processing, software defined radio, sensor data capture, etc.

Galleon's Titan Quad Gigabit Ethernet XMC and the Galleon Titan Quad 10Gigabit Ethernet XMC offers high-performance Ethernet for a wide range of applications. Based on the high-performance Intel i350 quad port Gigabit Ethernet controller, the Titan Quad Gigabit Ethernet XMC supports IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP), making it suitable for time critical applications. Providing UDP, TCP and IP checksum offload functionality. Based on the latest Intel XL710 (Forteville) 10GbE Controller, the Titan Quad 10GbE XMC supports IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP), making it suitable for time critical applications. The XL710 offers the latest UDP, TCP and IP checksum offload.

The XMCs are available in both air-cooled and conduction-cooled variants. The boards may be fitted with standard front panel LC connectors or recessed rugged LC connectors for easy optical cabling in conduction cooled environments with no front panel connections. Alternatively, the high speed serial interfaces can be routed through the P16 rear I/O for backplane communication.

The boards is delivered with drivers for Linux and Windows hosts. An optional PCI Express card edge adapter offers easy integration in standard desktop systems for non-rugged applications and SW development.
