As a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for Spectra Aerospace and Defense, you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and customers in the defense industry. These clients typically include prime defense contractors and other essential stakeholders. The primary focus of the RSM is to understand the unique needs and challenges of these clients, offer customized solutions, and ensure the long-term success of these strategic partnerships.

The RSM is responsible for conveying the benefits of the company's solutions (i.e., products and services) to both new and existing customers to drive sales. This involves coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs, identifying and educating potential customers, providing support to existing customers with information and assistance, and negotiating and obtaining contracts and customer orders.

You will oversee customers in the Nordic region for the complete range of Spectra Aerospace and Defense products, as well as potentially expanding to additional regions or customers in the future.

The RSM will also be responsible for generating quotations, based on input from Subject Matter Experts within each of the Spectra companies. The RSM will collaborate closely with the SMEs to engage with customers on technical matters, proposing the best solutions from our range of products and services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

An engineering background is advantageous.
Proven success in expanding business with defense customers in the Nordic region is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the customers' organizations, understanding their specific needs, goals, and challenges.
  • Generate leads by identifying new potential customers, qualifying them, and building relationships with them.
  • Build on Galleon's existing success with customers, maintaining relationships with those customers and serving as the primary point of contact for all Spectra companies.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers throughout the sales process, including the discovery, pre-design, proposal, and closing stages.
  • Continuously update sales pipeline forecasts.
  • Lead the drafting of responses to Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Requests for Quotation (RFQ), coordinating with Product Managers from the Spectra companies as needed to provide winning solutions to customers.
  • Present and discuss solutions with customers, explaining technical concepts.
  • Identify key factors that increase the likelihood of winning a contract or obtaining a purchase order from customers.
  • Bridge the gap between customers and engineering, production, and compliance by providing clear and traceable requirements for handover to engineering and production with purchase orders.
  • Support customers through the post-sale process.
  • Ensure that all interactions and agreements with key clients adhere to government regulations, export controls, and business ethics.
  • Transfer market, competitor, and customer information to Product Managers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Requires a high degree of self-motivation to coordinate efforts with remote colleagues to ensure that proposed products will win the business while meeting profit margin targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to win business in the defense electronics market.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and either Swedish or Norwegian.
  • Strong presentation skills to engage the attention of customers.
  • Strong power of persuasion.
  • Knowledge of Military standards (MIL-STD), aviation standards (DO-160), and export regulations for military systems is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance in at least one of the Nordic countries.
